Web Developer II Position in Columbia, MD

Web Developer II in support of a prime contract which provides web application development within a full life cycle environment that will allow for the introduction of Cloud technologies to include engaging large enterprise based systems and working towards modernizing the IT business information systems.

Job Description

  • As part of a multifaceted team, responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Responsible for designing, creating, testing and maintaining web sites and content that enrich and optimize the exchange of information and produce effective communications between NSA/CSS and its customer Interact with the team to gather and define requirements and analyze requirements to determine the most effective web technologies to satisfy their needs. Delivers comprehensive web site solutions to satisfy the customer’s requirements and maintains configuration management.

Required:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
  • A BS degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional web development experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Codes websites using HTML, Visual Basic, or other web-based programming languages.
  • Uses a variety of internet technologies, techniques and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (g. Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML) to create web page elements such as user interface features, site animation, databases, and e-business applications.

Technical Writer II Position in Columbia, MD

Technical Writer in support of a prime contract that provides back end web application development within a full life cycle environment that will allow for the introduction of COTS implementation, custom software support, basic server support and coding changes and enhancements to existing systems. This will be done within a full life cycle environment. Duties will include the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. Write and edit technical documentation for all of the project’s hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation. The right candidate will also create code documentation for software; produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and format technical publications from pamphlets and technical drawings, along with other duties as assigned.

As part of a multifaceted team, responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.

Required:

  • Six (6) years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
  • BS/BA in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years’ additional technical writing experience may be substituted for a BS Degree.
  • One (1) year of Information Assurance experience – Certification & Accreditation required.
  • Experience applying technical standard NSA DS-89 to work products.
  • Active TS-SCI with Polygraph level clearance.

Software Engineers I and II Positions in Columbia, MD

 

Job Description

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works well both individually and as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problems and reports them to the team. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, as well as use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or, 4 years of pertinent experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree)
  • 7 years (SWE I) or 14 years (SWE II) of software development experience required
  • Experience working with Firewalls, IPSEC, PKI, and VPNs
  • Experience administering Web Servers, to include Apache, IAS, IIS, JBoss, Tomcat, Web Logic, SUNB2B
  • Experience Developing Web-based interfaces, to include FireFox, Internet Explorer (IE)
  • Experience with the following Operating Systems: AIX, IBM Mainframe, Linux, Solaris, Windows, and Virtual Machines
  • Scripting, Programming, and Object Oriented Programming experience with the following: .NET, AJAX, ArcObjects, ASP, ASP .Net, ASP VB Script, C+, C++, CLR Stored Procedures, COBOL, Cognos, Cold Fusion, CSS, Expect, FOCUS, HTML, Java, Java Script, and others
  • Experience with COTS Software Development: Oracle/APEX, Office Integration Development
