Department of Homeland Security SBIR

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program, comprised of the Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate’s SBIR Program and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office’s (DNDO) have released an SBIR on homeland security‐related areas.  The solicitation number is HSHQDC-17-R-00010.

DHS S&T Directorate topics  include the following:

  • H‐SB017.1‐001 – Enhanced Agent Situational Awareness in Dismounted, Low Light/Adverse Conditions
  • H-SB017.1-003 – Do Not Spoof Services for Modern Telephony
  • H-SB017.1-004 – Identity Verification & Validation for Mobile Networks Authentication Enhancement
  • H-SB016.1-005 – Blockchain Applications for Homeland Security Missions
  • H-SB017.1-006 – Wearable Chemical Sensor Badge
  • H-SB017.1-007 – Over-the-air Authentication Technology for Messaging via Emergency Alerts

DNDO topics include the following:

  • H-SB017.1-008 – Accelerated Crystal-Size Scale-Up Development of Thallium-based, High Efficiency, Dual or Tri-Mode Elpasolite Scintillator
  • H-SB017.1-009 – Unattended Radiation Detection System

Proposals can be for up to $100,000 and 6 months in duration.  Proposals are due January 18, 2017.

DARPA SBIR Phase 2 Award to Descartes Labs

DARPA has announced a SBIR Phase 2 award to Descartes Labs, Inc for Satellite imagery analysis for automated global food security forecasting.  The award amount is $484,193.

DHS and DNDO SBIR Pre-solicitation for FY17 Topics

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) have released the pre-solicitation topics for their 2017 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)HSHQDC-FY17-SBIR-PreSolicitation.

The pre-solicitation period for this SBIR is from December 1, 2016 through December 14, 2016. During the pre-solicitation period, technical questions about the topics can be made to the Technical Point of Contact (POC) for each topic that is listed in the topic areas. During this pre-solicitation period, interested parties may contact topic authors via email to ask technical questions about the topics.

DHS topics include:

DARPA SBIR Award to Accelogic

DARPA has announced an award to Accelogic, LLC for a Phase 2 SBIR.  The title of the award is “Enabling Extreme Acceleration of Graph Analytics in Real-world Applications” and the award amount is $505,000.

Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 17 SBIR Solicitation

The Department of Transportation has released their fiscal year 2017 SBIR solicitation, DTRT5717RSBIR1.  The due date for proposals is December 21, 2016 .

Department of the Interior SBIR Phase 1 Award to Nanomedical Diagnostics

The Department of the Interior announced a SBIR Phase 1 award to Nanomedical Diagnostics Inc.  The title of the project is “Real-Time Assessment of Antimicrobial Concentrations for Personalized Treatment of Infectious Diseases” and the award amount is $100,000.

Department of the Interior SBIR Phase 1 Award for UtopiaCompression Corporation

The Department of the Interior has announced a SBIR Phase 1 award to UtopiaCompression Corp of Los Angeles, CA.  The name of the project is “Distributed Beam forming for Air/Ground Communications” and the award amount is $99,973.65.

NOAA 2017 SBIR Phase 1 Call for Proposals
